Have you ever wanted to bring your Pinterest inspiration to life? Well, in my latest video, I’m showing you how I did just that! This time, I’ve DIYed two oversized pin boards that serve as my real-life Pinterest boards, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results.
The Inspiration
As a web designer and a creative, I’m always looking for ways to stay inspired. Scrolling through Pinterest is great, but it can be a black hole of distractions. That’s why I decided to make life-size boards where I could pin fabric swatches, paint samples, magazine clippings, and other tangible sources of inspiration. Having these boards physically present in my workspace keeps my creativity flowing and my goals front and center.

Step-by-Step Process
Measure Twice, Cut OnceStart by cutting your insulation board to the desired size. I used an X-Acto knife, but next time, I’d go for a larger box cutter to ensure cleaner cuts.
Add BattingThis step softens the look of the boards. While I used a glue gun, spray adhesive would’ve been faster and less finger-burning!
Wrap with FabricChoose a fabric that suits your style and workspace. Make sure it’s pulled tight around the board for a clean finish. I ironed my fabric beforehand for a polished look.
Secure EverythingI initially used staples, but since the boards are made of styrofoam, I reinforced the fabric with Gorilla Spray Glue for added durability.
Hang Your BoardsUsing Command Strips, I mounted the boards on my wall. Pro tip: Use a leveler to make sure everything is straight!
The Fun Part: Pinning!
With the boards ready, it was time to curate my visual inspiration. I gathered:
Magazine clippings with bold fonts and colors.
Paint swatches to explore palettes.
Fabric samples and textures.
Arranging everything took some time, but the result? Chef’s kiss! It’s not just functional; it’s a beautiful piece of art for my workspace.
